Natural Resource Damage Database

The Natural Resource Damage Database (NRDD) is a permanent database of natural resources to support recovery efforts in the aftermath of disasters by capturing data on the geographical extent of vegetation and subsurface debris. This information is vital to a comprehensive recovery process. The NRDD resource provides easy access to up-to-date reports on damage, maps that help predict the size of possible recovery areas, and other background information. The NRDD is maintained by the National Climactic Data Center, a division of the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration. The most recent version of the NRDD was released on March 12, 2018. In this version of the NRDD, there are 9,365,517 assets that have significant damage (defined as those with either infrastructure damage or building collapse damage); of these, approximately 2,902,094 assets sustained damage during this season.
