Stanley Elias Eckard

History and background

Stanley Leon Elias Eckard is an American musician from Shreveport, Louisiana. Known to the public as Stanley Eckards since 1985, he has released several records that include a cover of Leonard Cohen's 'Grateful Dead'. Later, he teamed with Trey Anastasio to found the band Anastassios - The Eckard Line of Autoporto (1991–1993).

Though known by a variety of names, their music blends sounds of bluegrass, blues harmonica, blues-rock, and jazz. As the band's members performed live during their time together, they made several albums in the late 1980s and early 1990s.
