Caption: The newest supercar to pass the $1 million mark is Porsche's new 911 GT3. And that's only the record as the latest 603 horsepower version of the superbike is the second-fastest and the fastest 945-inspired supercar to ever get the megascores.
"I am a Porsche owner, builder and designer," the spokesperson said. "The 911 GT3 is now the fastest supercar in the world."
Of course, that would put the GT3 at a whopping 603 horsepower (639 kilowatts) over the last records set by the 911 GT4 S and 911 GT3 RS R that topped out at 450 horsepower and 563 kilowatts – the 911 GT3 RS had 623 and 544, respectively.
The GT3 can go from zero to 200 mph in under two seconds and hit the top speed of 198 miles per hour, nearly as fast as its predecessor.

It's nice to see Porsche not just taking some heat for being too frugal, but taking some pride as well. That, I can believe.
Also nice to note is that the GT3 (with the optional driver-adjustable dampers, the Porsche Super Sports Pack, and its race-inspired setup) performs identically to its more expensive contemporary road-going sibling, the 911.
So let's compare the GT3 to the 911 GT4, a car Porsche was quick to come out of retirement in for the purposes of world records.
